Golden Milk Mango Breakfast Smoothie

This mango breakfast smoothie combines the freshness of mango with a golden milk latte! It's a real energy booster made with turmeric and ginger.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup (130 g) frozen mango
  • ½ cup (70 g) frozen banana slices
  • 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened soy milk or favorite plant-based milk
  • 3 tablespoons rolled oats gluten-free if needed
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened soy yogurt

  • Glass blender jug filled with frozen bananas, mango, oats and spices.
    Add the frozen mango, frozen banana, soy milk, frozen mango, frozen banana, oats, hemp seeds, soy yogurt, and spices to a blender.
  • Glass blender jug filled with a blended orange mango smoothie.
    Blend on high or use the smoothie program of your blender. Let it run for at least 30 seconds to make sure the oats are as finely ground as possible.

Notes

  1. If you don't have vanilla-flavored milk, use plain soy milk and add ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  2. I recommend quick-cooking oats because their thin flakes blend more easily and provide a smoother texture. 
  3. If you're using rolled oats, try blending them first and adding the other ingredients afterward. Alternatively, soak the oats in water overnight. This softens them and makes them blend in seamlessly.
  4. Use a glass blender jug to avoid turmeric stains.
  5. Add more milk for a thinner smoothie.
  6. Adding pepper increases the absorption of the active compound curcumin found in turmeric.
