Step 1

Mince the onion and garlic.

Step 2

Sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Pour the red wine into the pan. Let it reduce by half.

Step 4

Add in the passata, vegetable broth, and a pinch of sugar. Let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 5

Season the sauce with salt, pepper and your favorite Italian seasoning mix.

Step 6

Toss the pasta in the sauce until well-covered.
