German Mulled Wine Recipe

What to expect

This mulled wine  recipe tastes just like the ones they serve at German Christmas markets!

Cinnamon tea

Oranges

Ingredients

Red wine

Spices

Maple syrup

Step 1

Crush the cardamom pods with the back of a knife to release their aroma.

Step 2

Juice 3 oranges. Peel and slice the 2 other oranges.

Step 3

Add the spices to a large pot and dry-roast them (without oil) for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Add the wine, orange juice, orange slices, sugar, maple syrup and cinnamon tea to the pot.

Step 5

Simmer over low heat. If time allows, let it rest for another hour.

Step 6

Remove the whole spices and orange slices from the Glühwine. Serve warm.

It's the perfect recipe to make the days leading up to Christmas.
