Frozen Strawberry Smoothie (No Yogurt, No Milk)

5 from 2 votes
This frozen strawberry smoothie is super creamy even though it's made without yogurt and milk. The secret is to add nut butter for creaminess and a teaspoon of strawberry jam to enhance the strawberry flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (130 g) frozen strawberries
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) water
  • 2-3 tablespoons cashew butter sub almond butter
  • 2 teaspoons strawberry jam I like to use "spreadable fruit" with 80% strawberries

Instructions

  • Wash the straberries and remove the stems. Place them in a freezer bag or airtight container and freeze them for at least 8 hours.
  • Add the frozen straberries, water, straberry jam and cashew butter to a blender.
  • Start blending on low-medium and gradually increase the speed until perfectly smooth. Serve right away.

Notes

  1. One cup holds about 8 large whole strawberries. Use 10-12 strawberries if they are pretty small.
  2. If you don't have enough frozen strawberries, you can use part fresh strawberries.
  3. If using a small blender, run the frozen strawberries under warm water to slightly soften them. This will make the blending process easier and prevent damaging the blades. You can omit this tip if using a high-speed blender.
