Key ingredients
- Watermelon and strawberries: They are both easy to juice with a slow juicer and make this lemonade extra hydrating.
- Lemons–I mean this is a lemonade after all. Preferably use organic lemons.
- Mint: I recommend flavorful Moroccan mint if you can find it. You can also leave it out if you don't like mint.
- Indian tonic water: It's the secret ingredient to this truly delicious lemonade as it turns the watermelon-strawberry juice into a sparkling beverage with a lot more punch. You can replace it with sparkling water if needed.
Elo's Trusted Juicer
I'm using the compact easy-clean Hurom H310A slow juicer which is incredible for juicing and provides a really dry juice pulp (great for juice pulp recipes).
How to make watermelon lemonade with a juicer
STEP 1: Prep the ingredients. Remove the rind of the watermelon and lemons. Cut all the fruits into cubes. Remove the mint leaves from their stems.
STEP 2: Juice. Add the watermelon, strawberries, and lemon to the hopper/feeding tube of your juicer. Squeeze the mint leaves between the other ingredients to make sure they get juiced properly. Turn on your juicer.
STEP 3: Strain. I recommend straining the watermelon-strawberry juice through a fine-mesh strainer after juicing to remove any small bits and pieces. You can also place a fine-mesh strainer on top of the recipient collecting the juice.
STEP 4: Make the lemonade. Add the watermelon-strawberry juice to a glass jug with ice cubes, lemon slices, and a sprig of mint for garnish. Fill it up with Indian tonic water. Serve right away.
Serving tips
If you're not serving the lemonade right away, store the watermelon-strawberry juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Add it to a jug with ice cubes and tonic water right before serving.
If you're not making the lemonade for a crowd, you can add the juice to individual glasses and add in a splash of tonic water, that works, too!
